SHINSHU UNIVERSITY is a comprehensive university with eight faculties (Arts, Education, Economics, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Textile Science and Technology), eight graduate schools, many research institutions and educational facilities including libraries and a hospital. Our program is designed specifically for our partner university students who are interested in Japanese culture, who desire to live abroad, or who are searching for new challenges.
If your Japanese language skill is not good enough to understand major subjects, you are able to take intensive Japanese language classes at Global Education Center. We offer five levels ranging from absolute beginner to advanced.

Clarifications about the courses
There are some English lessons, but not many and they are not organised.
Students take classes in Japanese or in both Japanese and English. Students with sufficiently high Japanese language skills take classes in common education and specialised subjects offered in Japanese.

Equivalence of university credits
Each lesson lasts 90 minutes and is held 15 times per semester. The standard requirement for one credit is 45 hours of study, including study outside the classroom. If you pass the examinations, you receive one credit for language classes and two credits for all other classes.
